Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis Installation in Gipsy, MO
Most under-sink RO systems fit in a standard kitchen cabinet, but the install is where they go right or wrong. Bear Water Purification connects Gipsy, MO homeowners with plumbers who set these systems up properly the first time.
The job has four connection points. A feed valve tees off the cold supply. A drain saddle clamps onto the sink drain above the P-trap, so wastewater never sits against the membrane. The storage tank stands upright or lies on its side, charged to about 7 psi when empty. And a dedicated drinking water faucet goes through the sink deck or the countertop.
Get the drain saddle wrong and you hear gurgling every time the system flushes. Mount it below the trap and you invite back-siphoning. Those two mistakes cause most of the callbacks on DIY installs.
Before anything gets drilled, your feed pressure gets checked. Under 40 psi, a standard 4 or 5 stage unit fills the tank slowly and sends more water to drain, so a booster or permeate pump belongs in the quote.
